Smolderos the Carbonizer Unread post by Keilden » Mon Mar 07, pm While questing in mount hyjal and getting killed by Smolderos the Carbonizer I decided that I was going to tame him, sure he can one shot me and sure there are easier corehounds with his skin to get. After alot of tries later I got him and noticed that his passive sound was diffrent then other corehounds, and when he attacks the also sounds diffrent.

Can anyone else try to tame him just incase I just hear wrong? Re: Smolderos the Carbonizer Unread post by Rathidion » Mon Mar 07, pm I tamed him at 82 the other day lucky misses , and didn't notice anything different.

I have since abandoned him though, so I can't check. Re: Smolderos the Carbonizer Unread post by Kurasu » Mon Mar 07, pm For those who want to test, he's not immune to freeze traps. Come see Kurasu's stables! Also, try taming an easy-to-get core hound, and comparing the sound with your Smolderos. Re: Smolderos the Carbonizer Unread post by Keilden » Mon Mar 07, pm Tamed a easy to get, Smolders "burning" sounds is more silent then the standard. His growls are more emmm demonic.

Re: Smolderos the Carbonizer Unread post by Acherontia » Tue Mar 08, pm Yeah, the Magmadar sounds are the first thing I'd suspect--quieter idle iirc and different fighting sounds completely. I seem to remember someone telling me he was, but I sort of doubted it was true. He hit my pre-made Hunter for over 23k Physical Damage and put a Rend on me that ticked for about Needless to say, I learned my lesson about flying -through- Elite mobs now :P. Comment by If you are looking for loot from him, don't bother. He doesn't drop anything good.

All I got was a grey wrist from him. Comment by Very easy to solo as an Arcane Mage. Simply kite him around there area and he will be dead in no time. Took me about 5 minutes, then he dropped nothing. Oh well. Comment by Tomslucky7 he's tameable! Comment by Lawkstar easy to solo as a frost mage too keep a slow on him freeze everytime you can if you root him he'll sometimes turn around and pwn a twilight person which is funny to watch :P.

Comment by Guanyin He is tamable indeed. Just tamed him, though both the tame and the result aren't really that special. He's not immune to freezing trap so he's no challenge to tame. I guess I'll tame Chromaggus, this pet is no difference from the Molten Core corehounds. Comment by kungmax well, i killed him just to skinn him Comment by Just FYI: Our GM was levelling an alt in Hyjal today, this guy popped up, pretty much one-shot her at lvl 80, so i came to help - and it was phazed i'd completed the Hyjal quests.

Comment by poggg Yeah, don't even try it. Even at 85, this guy's pretty damn tough, and liable to wreck you without some luck or being a good class for the job. He's not worth the effort either, really. Comment by StaticLgtBrngr He can be slowed down so if you fancy a try at killing him you can easily kite him round in circles as ranged, don't let him get close though or you'll know about it. Comment by I've checked his spawn points in Hyjal several times and haven't seen this guy once.

He's also been added to my NPCscan. I've completed all the Hyjal quests, which means I can no longer see Core Hound.

Anyone know how I can find Smolderos? Comment by Out of curiosity Comment by monkeyporche Confirmed with my 85 Hunter, just tamed him and I have been done completely with Hyjal for awhile. Comment by Hummingbird He will kill his spawn if it gets too close. I just wanted to see what he would do Comment by gothwizard So completing the Hyjal quests, does that phase him out of existance for you? Just asking because i have not seen him since completing those. Comment by Heartblossom He dropped shadowskulk leggings for me on 1st kill, thought he was some kinda rare elite, but still nice drop though not on drop list.

Comment by LawrenceToo I found him with a lvl 82 and quickly switched to my 85 hunter.
